About Petra Vidal

I’m a fully qualified integrative counsellor and a registered member of the BACP, offering therapy for adults (18+) in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, as well as online and by phone across the UK.

I became a therapist because I believe that being truly seen and heard by another person can be profoundly healing. Sometimes, simply having someone witness your struggles — without judgment or agenda — can help you begin to make sense of why life has felt so hard. My own experience of personal therapy showed me just how powerful it can be to sit with someone who genuinely wants to understand you. That experience continues to shape the way I work today.

My approach is grounded in person-centred values. I offer a warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth space where you can bring whatever you’re carrying. I work gently and collaboratively, supporting you in exploring your experiences, building emotional resilience, and reconnecting with your sense of self.

Over time, I’ve developed a strong commitment to holistic work — recognising that emotional pain often lives in the body as well as the mind. I’m also a qualified yoga teacher and have used movement, breath, and embodied practices to support my own healing. While I don’t offer yoga in sessions, my somatic understanding helps me work in a grounded and sensitive way, especially when supporting clients with trauma, anxiety, or disconnection from themselves.
