Petra gave me space to breathe and tools to manage my anxiety. I always felt my worries were well accepted, and it made a huge difference knowing I was heard. I had always worried being gay was going to hurt the people around me, now I'm free to be who I am.

I finally felt safe to open up and be honest about my struggles. The warmth and understanding I received helped me reconnect with myself in ways I never thought possible. Petra unlocked parts of me I'd kept hidden and I feel more free and relaxed in my day to day life.

I found it really hard to speak to my friends about my struggles with eating, Petra gave me all the tools I needed to get back into healthy routines. Understanding my body better gave me the confidence to build myself up. Thank you for everything Petra.

Some initial questions

Find clarity about how therapy works, what to expect, and how Isupport you—whether you’re new to counselling/or returning to it.

What happens in a typical session?

Each session is a collaborative space where you can talk about whatever’s on your mind. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready for. We’ll move at your pace, exploring your experiences and feelings together.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply want a space to reflect, therapy can help. You don’t need to have a specific problem—just a willingness to explore what’s going on for you. I’m here to support you, wherever you’re starting from.

Can I have sessions online or by phone?

Absolutely. I offer sessions in-person, online, or by phone—whatever feels most comfortable and accessible for you. We’ll work together to find the format that best supports your needs.

Is everything I share confidential?

Yes. What you share in therapy stays between us, with a few legal exceptions for your safety or the safety of others. I’ll always explain confidentiality clearly so you know what to expect.
